Giving back to my community is important to me, and WTOL11 highlighted the work that I do to help local NICU families with premature newborn photography in Toledo, a cause close to my heart.

Juggling motherhood and a career has its challenges, and Toledo Area Parent featured me, along with other local mom bosses, in a recent cover story.

Motherhood Portraits by Tiana Lashae

Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit, I am currently living my best life in Toledo, Ohio!

The reason I specialize in newborn/family portraits is deeply rooted in my own motherhood experience. My third child, who medically needed to be delivered at 30 weeks, arrived at only 1lb 14oz. I learned a lot from the weeks we spent in the NICU, and I proudly rock my “NICU Mom” shirt on a regular basis. That difficult time taught me compassion, gratitude, and instilled in me a deeper love for the small details of everyday life that often fade with time. It brings me absolute joy to capture and preserve such tender memories for my clients to remember forever.

My approach to photographing my clients allows for them to just be themselves, and I love that part the most! I give direction as needed, but I prefer less posing and more interactive moments. It's all in the authentic moments and everyday details.

What am I doing when I am not behind the camera or homeschooling my gaggle of kids? I enjoy spending time with my blended family of 7, late night ice-cream treats, comedy movies, walks in the park, reading, traveling and donating my time at St. Vincent Mercy Health's NICU, where I gift free portrait sessions to families with premature babies. I am also First Aid, CPR & AED certified with the American Red Cross.
